Beginning Anew... again:0)

Ok. I've had so much fun reading my friend Shellie's blog (I didn't realize the things that crack me up daily might add joy to someone else's life, too). She is a hoot and if you are a mom, you'll relate. Check her out. Often, at lunch with the other connections teachers, we share some of the ridiculous events in our classrooms. We've mentioned on more than one occasion that we should blog instead of discussing ways to annihilate our kids. So, today, on a day off, (President's Day, try explaing the evolution of that one to a 9 year old), I'm reading Shellie's blog, finding her links to other beautiful mom's blogs and thinking... I'll do this.

My most recent thought: How good am I at following the Spirit when I take off after church for an unplanned road trip... right through the middle of downtown Atlanta during a tornado watch. We survive only to be awakened just as we are about to go to sleep at my mom's house that evening, by a phone call from my neighbor friend who is in Chicago airport, realizing that she has left her house keys in Wisconsin and would I leave her spare key under her doormat? Well, ya, I would, but I'm 2.5 hours away. grrrr. On top of that... I get up to go for a walk this morning, having a great time taking pictures in the dark, sun almost coming up... and a neighborhood school bus barrels down the country road, leaving me with thoughts like, "Maybe this county's schools aren't off today?" Yea, you guessed it. I drove for 2.5 hours, through ideal tornado conditions only to find out all the kids my son wanted to play with should be in school today. Key word: should. :) Hooky!

so, here I sit, on a perfectly good day off from work in a house with 4 kids and not enough on the walls to trap all the noise. Heaven will be quiet, I'm sure of it!
